§ 8-48. Classes of licenses.

  • There shall be the following classes and denominations of licenses, which, when issued by the village clerk under the authority of the village board after payment of the fee hereinafter specified, shall permit the holder to sell, deal or traffic in intoxicating liquor or fermented malt beverages in the village:

    (1)

    Class "A" fermented malt beverage retailer's license, which authorizes retail sales of fermented malt beverages for consumption off the premises where sold and in original packages, containers, and bottles, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.25(1).

    (2)

    Class "B" fermented malt beverage retailer's license, which authorizes retail sales of fermented malt beverages to be consumed either on the premises where sold or off the premises, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.26(1).

    (3)

    Class "B" club license, which authorizes retail sales of fermented malt beverages to be consumed either on the premises where sold or off the premises, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.26(2)(a);

    (4)

    Class "B" fermented malt beverage retailer's permit for brewers, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.29(1).

    (5)

    Retail "Class A" liquor license, which authorizes the retail sale of intoxicating liquor for consumption off the premises where sold and in original packages and containers, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.51(2)(a).

    (6)

    "Class C" wine license, which authorizes the sale of wine by the bottle, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.51(3m), and by restaurants by the glass for consumption on the premises, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.51(3r).

    (7)

    Retail "Class B" liquor license, which authorizes the retail sale of intoxicating liquor for consumption on the premises where sold by the glass and not in the original package or container, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.51(3)(a). In addition, wine may be sold in the original package or container in any quantity to be consumed off the premises where sold.

    (8)

    Wholesaler's fermented malt beverage license, which authorizes sales of fermented malt beverages only in original packages or containers to retailers or wholesalers, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.28

    (9)

    Beverage operator's license, required for any person 18 years of age or older who is serving, selling or dispensing alcohol beverages, unless under the immediate supervision of a person with an operator's license or agent of the establishment. The term "immediate supervision" means the operator or agent must be able to see at all times the activities of those persons serving alcohol beverages. Persons applying for beverage operator's licenses must meet the qualifications specified in Wis. Stats. § 125.17.

    (10)

    Medicinal alcohol permit, which authorizes the permittee to purchase and use alcohol for medicinal purposes only, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 125.61(1).
