§ 2-174. Standing committees.

  • Standing committees are continuing, permanent committees made up of village trustees that serve a particular function as assigned by the board. The village board may, from time to time, establish standing committees for such purposes and with such duties as the board deems expedient. Members of such committees may include village officers and employees, as well as village citizens, provided that all committee members shall be residents of the county at the time of appointment and continuously during their service on the committee. The village board shall appoint all committee members and designate the committee chair. Committee appointments and chair designations shall be reviewed annually by the board. Committee members and committee chairs serve at the pleasure of the village board and may be removed at any time by the village board with or without cause.
