§ 2-173. Election board.

  • (a)

    Composition; appointment and removal of members. The election board shall consist of seven members who shall be residents of the village, appointed by the village president and confirmed by a majority vote of the village board. Members shall serve an indeterminate term at the pleasure of the board and may be removed by the village board with or without cause.

    (b)

    Consideration of new members. Any person who registers to vote in the village may indicate, on a form provided by the village clerk, his interest in serving on the election board. The village clerk shall maintain a list of all persons who have expressed interest in serving on the election board, and the village board, in appointing members, shall first consider persons on the clerk's list.

    (c)

    Duties. The election board shall have the powers and duties prescribed by Wis. Stats. § 7.21.
